The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act changed the way Americans purchased health insurance. Also referred to as the PPACA or Obamacare, the new law eliminated underwriting. We no longer ask health questions. You can not be denied coverage due to preexisting conditions or if you haven’t had a compliant health insurance policy.
