The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act changed the way Americans purchased health insurance.  Also referred to as the PPACA or Obamacare, the new law eliminated underwriting.  We no longer ask health questions.  You can not be denied coverage due to preexisting conditions or if you haven’t had a compliant health insurance policy.
 

Important Dates for open enrollment 2018: 
 

November 1, 2018 Open Enrollment begins
   
December 15, 2018 Last day to enroll in or change plans for new coverage to begin January 1, 2019

Special Enrollment Periods for 2018 

 

You do not need to wait until the Open Enrollment Period if you experience certain line changes:

   

Lose your health policy

Getting married   

   

Have a baby

Adopt a child
   
Move to a new state Becoming a US citizen
   
Death of a covered family member Changes in income that affect eligibility
Turning 26 and aging off your parent's policy
